1 pack of Breadsticks
2 bags of Crisps

Make salads, marinate meats and soak wooden kebab sticks the day before the BBQ. Search out patio chairs and hammock.

ON The BARBIE: Plain burgers are boring so look for BBQ flavour. Use decent sausages. Smoked bacon is great topping for burgers or sausage. Salmon and dill. Pork and mixed herbs. Sweet corn.

KEBABS: Marinate chicken with pesto, lamb with mint sauce. Red onion, courgettes, peppers, mushrooms.

POTATO SALAD: New pots, boiled eggs, spring onions, salad dressing.

COLESLAW: white cabbage, carrots, lemon juice, mayo.

SUE's SALADS: Cherry tomatoes, cucumber, black olives, feta, mint leaves. Carrot shavings, lettuce, red cabbage.

WALDORF: Basics: apples, celery, grapes, walnuts. Great additions: home-cooked chook, bacon, spring onions, sultanas, salad dressing.

PASTA SALAD:

DESSERTS: Pavlova, cheesecake, ice creams.

DRINKS: Iced tea, fruit juices, sodas, cider, beer, Pimm's. Sangria.
