Nana's Cheese Straws


Nana's amazing yummy cheese straws

175 grams of Plain Flour (or GF flour)

1 pinch of Paprika

75 grams of Butter (or a bit more)

75 grams of finely grated Cheddar Cheese (or a bit more)

1 beaten Egg

3 teaspoons of Milk

1 handful of Sesame Seeds (for coating)



Preheat the oven to 190 degrees C.


Sieve dry ingredients, rub in the butter, and then stir in the grated cheese


Mix to form a firm dough with the beaten egg and milk then leave to rest for about 15 mins.


Roll out to approximately 1cm thick on a floured surface. Then cut into whatever shape you like (fingers, stars, dinosaurs) and place on a lightly greased backing tray.


Top with sesame seeds and bake in the oven for 12-15 mins until crisp and lightly golden. Let them rest for a minutes once out the oven, then put them on a cooling rack until cooled slightly. Now ready to eat!
