Pepernoten are small Dutch spiced biscuits traditionally eaten during the Sinterklaas season. They are crunchy on the outside, slightly soft inside, and flavored with warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

Preheat the oven to 160°C (fan) or 180°C regular oven.

Pepernoten taste even better the next day because the spices become stronger. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. You can add chocolate coating for a modern version.
